Benefits of Real Estate Ownership and Usufruct in Qatar


The Ministry of Justice – State of Qatar outlines a number of benefits related to real estate ownership and usufruct, subject to the conditions and regulations established under the applicable laws and decisions.

According to the information published on the Ministry of Justice website, the benefits include investment opportunities for Qataris and non-Qataris through the ownership of shops and offices in commercial malls and residential complexes, as well as opportunities to own units in residential developments across different areas of Qatar.

The applicable regulations also provide property-linked residency benefits based on the value of the property. Owners of properties valued at QAR 730,000 or more may be eligible for property-linked residency, subject to the applicable conditions.

For properties valued at QAR 3,650,000 or more, the owner may receive real estate residency and the benefits applicable to holders of permanent residency cards, including healthcare, education and investment benefits, subject to the applicable conditions, including residing in Qatar for at least 90 days per year, whether continuously or intermittently.

The Ministry of Justice also refers to a one-stop service for completing procedures and obtaining the related benefits, as well as opportunities for Qatari and non-Qatari companies to own property in accordance with the applicable regulations.
